The Epitome of an Elegant Invitation

Dressed in scrubs by day (and sometimes by night) our bride Lauren administers care and love in the pediatric neonatal intensive care unit. So when she asked for her wedding suite to be elegant, we delivered.

Elegant. You know what it means, the feeling it invokes, but how do you express it as a wedding vision? Our bride Lauren was clear about what elegant meant to her: engraving, hand calligraphy, understated gold details.

What we love about designing invitations is that each bride has a completely different design aesthetic and vision about their wedding. Our job is to realize that vision and ensure that every single detail is perfectly executed.

Nestled in the crook of Long Island Sound in Westport, Connecticut  the Inn at Longshore is an OnTheMarc venue with stunning water views. Uniquely beautiful in every season, this early autumn October wedding had crisp light and cool breezes captured in the photography of Trisha Keeler

The invitation is engraved in gold and black and has a gorgeous beveled edge. A beveled edge is made by cutting the paper at a 45° angle. This has to be done very carefully by skilled printers. The paper also needs to be quite thick, this invitation was 2 ply, 100% cotton. Doing a beveled edge is a subtle way to add sophistication and luxury to an invitation suite. This edge was then hand painted in gold.

To continue with the gold theme, the bride and groom’s names were engraved with gold ink. The invitation, wedding, and newly married couple were all: simply stunning.
