What is EmbraceRF?

EmbraceRF is a new FDA-approved facial contouring solution that is the perfect answer for patients who have facial skin laxity and the appearance of sagging along the jawline and neck, but may not be a candidate – or are not yet ready – for a facelift. EmbraceRF is ideal for patients suffering from loose skin along the jowls, sometimes referred to as a turkey neck or double chin.
EmbraceRF is a non-surgical lower facelift that is the combination of two treatments: FaceTite and Morpheus8, combining radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis with radiofrequency skin resurfacing. Small probes are inserted just underneath the surface of the skin, and excess fat is melted with radiofrequency energy, then suctioned away. Simultaneously, radiofrequency energy is applied to the outside of the skin for a tightening effect.

What is Radiofrequency Energy and How Does it Work?

Like any form of energy, RF has the capacity to produce heat—and while each brand-name application uses a slightly different technology, all work by heating the skin’s deeper layers to induce new collagen and elastin production and encourage cell turnover, helping skin become firmer, thicker and more youthful-looking.
An advantage of using RF to heat tissues, as opposed to lasers (which use higher-frequency light waves), is that the lower frequency of RF can safely penetrate to a deeper level, helping to improve skin tone and structure, even lifting tissues. Lasers for the most part work to improve the skin’s surface. Moreover, RF can safely treat more patients with different skin tones without risking permanent discoloration.

Who is a Good Candidate for EmbraceRF?

An in-person consultation is necessary to evaluate individual candidacy.

What Should I Expect During an EmbraceRF Procedure?

The procedure is done with local anesthesia in the office. Additional oral sedation can be given as well. Once the area is anesthetized, a small probe is inserted underneath the skin to deliver the radiofrequency energy to the deeper layers of tissue. Another part of the handpiece is applied externally to the skin at the same time.
Recovery from EmbraceRF is relatively brief, especially compared to invasive surgery. Most patients return to work and regular activity in 3-4 days. A compression wrap needs to be worn for a few days to contain swelling and achieve the best results.
